Expected Longevity

If you haven't seen my basic Masonry Heaters video, I hope you'll check that out before digging into this.  click HERE.

The Disclaimer:

How you use your heater will influence it's lifetime.  Like anything, animate or inanimate, abuse will shorten lifespan and degrade user experience.  Part of the joy a Maine Masonry Heater will bring into your life is the involvement you get to have in your own comfort and warmth.  Understanding the energy flows from the fire to the stove, the stove to the home, and the home to the blistering cold outside will help you protect your investment multi-generationally.

Maine Masonry Heaters  are passive.  We rely on the natural force of draft alongside the heat produced by combustion to make our stoves work.
The empty space within a masonry heater is designed to maximize combustion efficiency and heat absorption.

The only moving parts within a Maine Masonry Heater are a simple hinged door and a Heat-Retaining Damper.  Both are very simple and long-lasting.

The material in the combustion zones of the heater are high-temperature firebrick and castable refractories and are designed to take the stress of combustion and replacement, if needed, is designed into our heaters.

A Maine Masonry Heater is an heirloom product, optimized for it's simple job: making your home secure and enduringly cozy.
